Running smooth as a Bentley! Joss Bentley, riding in the Under 16’s category road and track series has signed for VS Cycles Racing Team for this season.
The Halifax based rider has been out training with the club through the winter putting in the base miles enduring the cold and wet in preparation for his racing season.
Already Joss has begun the season well, with plenty of wins and points gained during his Friday Night Track League racing at Manchester Velodrome, here’s a review of his winning results:

Joss crossing the line to scoop yet more points!
The rest of the VS Cycles racing team has yet to get going but with a good depth of talent amongst the squad results should soon begin to happen especially as the racing season really gets into gear by mid April.
Also good news is the Mountain biking club run is back up and running after what seems like an eternal winter. On the first Monday after the clocks moved forward 26 riders, old and new, braved the terrible weather for a cracking tour of Southowram’s finest bridleways and tracks. Plenty of thrills and spills in the slippery conditions made for a great nights entertainment followed by a supper at the Red Rooster. Host’s, Eddie & Claire, were more than a little surprised to see how many had actually turned up in the pouring rain. An excellent curry supper possibly helped a few make their minds up to brave the night!
The VS Cycles mountain bike club meets at 6.15 pm outside the VS cycles shop every Monday throughout the summer months, all welcome, but please U16’s most be accompanied by a responsible adult and helmets are compulsory. << back |
